Last week I was very fortunate to be asked if i would like to have a small story published in the Lancashire Evening Post. I was thrilled to accept and gave a brief interview to reporter Tom Earnshaw who asked about my recent performances including traveling out to the middle east. I feel we all need inspiration to believe and to carry our dream
We all dream lets face it, I dream to be the best Magician in the world (big dream I know) but the struggle is keeping the belief alive that it can be done, staying on course to remain motivated and inspired to work hard and get up and try and try until that dream becomes reality.
Anyone that knows me will know how motivated I am to do my best, from the moment of getting a booking I want to deliver, preparing my close-up bag I leave no stone unturned, the journey to the venue is taken up going through the motions analysing what I will do, how I be better and what can I do to prove my worth. I find great comfort in watching inspirational stories and reading how people have come from nothing to achieve their dreams.
One person whose dreams were always knocked down was Sylvester Stallone. A broke wannabe actor who had to sell his beloved dog he needed money that bad. He wrote one of the greatest films of all time Rocky in 3 days but struggled to be given the green light for the main role. However he stuck to his guns, plugged away and believed in what potential and talent he had. Since that film he has never looked back and I still to this day listen and believe in his speeches taken from the films: ‘If you know what your worth, then go and get what your worth, but you got to willing to take the hits and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you want to be because of him or her or anybody, cowards do that and that ain't you! Your better than that!’ This I feel is such a true saying and one that sticks with me as when I was younger, when I wasn’t very good, when I didn’t perfect my art enough, I wanted an excuse for not getting to where I wanted to be. The second quote ‘it ain't about how hard you hit, its about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much you can take and keep moving forward! That’s how winning is done!’ Again such true words that we all take knocks, we all have to get up and keep going, keep fighting. Getting up makes us learn, makes us better and drives us ever closer to our dreams.
My wife tagged me in a short video from Dwayne Johnson. Someone who I have the upmost respect for, for his work ethnic, his continuous drive and inspiring words. I have copied the link to the video below in the hope it can inspire you and motivate you, as that inspiration is needed to believe and carry our dreams.
So you are getting married!! But where are you getting married? Who do you invite? What theme should you go for? What flowers do you need? What church? What food? What entertainment? First dance music? Arghhhhhhhhh!!!
Firstly congratulations!!!! You are getting married! Now its time for the fun to really begin and time for you to enjoy planning your big day.
I have been married for two years and I still remember my wife tearing her hair out with a million questions from table plans to flowers and from songs the DJ should play to what food we should eat! The options are endless but here are some tips to help!
Tip 1: Plan well in advance
Like most things in life you should always plan well in advance and give yourself plenty of time to find what you are looking for, by planning well in advance you can spread the cost of all the things you want on your big day as well as feel more relaxed and not rushed leading up to the big day.
Tip 2: Don’t be overwhelmed
I remember going to a lot of wedding fairs and having people throw leaflet after leaflet at me and try the hard sell on the day of the wedding fair. Don’t feel pressured to purchase anything at a wedding fair unless you know you really want it and don’t feel like you have to like everything. Remember its your day!
Tip 3: Make it different
I am sure you have been to a wedding and thought it lacked that spark. Think outside the box and think what you would enjoy if you were a guest, its your day so make it one to remember and add things that will make it memorable and get people talking about your special day
Tip 4: Plan together
Remember there are two people getting married and so the big day should be planned by both of you to ensure you are both going to really enjoy it, you both have great ideas and the combination will make the day even better!
Tip 5: Enjoy it!
When the big day arrives, enjoy every minute and soak the atmosphere up and the day a sponge. So many people told me that your wedding day flies by but it is so true! So cherish every second and try and step back and take it all in!
Tip 6: Don’t let the weather spoil your day!
We all wish for sunshine at a wedding but did you know its good luck for it to rain? It was so hot on my wedding day I was badly sunburnt and had to ask the videographer to have the final video in black and white it was that bad! So don’t let the weather spoil the day, if its sunny make sure you get the sun cream on if you are like me and if it rains then your photographer will still get some amazing pictures, its your day not the weathers!!
Tip 7: Family Peace
We all have family members who don’t get on or who you don’t particularly like but feel as though you have to invite them. If you don’t then well done for being brave but if you do include them and show them a good time!
Tip 8: Payments on the day
If you are paying any suppliers on the day, sort the money out before hand in separate envelopes and let the best man or a trustworthy guest sort the payments out. There’s nothing worse than being chased around for payments and having to count money out after one to many drinks! If you can pay before the big day to get it out of the way then there’s nothing to worry about. All good suppliers will be happy to take payment before your wedding and be happy to provide a receipt!
Have fun, enjoy the day and enjoy spending the rest of your lives together!
Being a Close-Magician means I get to travel all over the UK at various events and venues and meet so many wonderful people. Some inspire, some make you laugh, some make you feel motivated and others give you strength and make you understand how lucky so many of us are to be healthy.
On Friday 16th June I was privileged to be booked for The Rosemere Touch Of Pink Ball organised by Mr Srinivasan. The evening was a great success with a huge turnout from NHS staff, Rosemere supporters and guests who have stood up and fought cancer. The evening was full of entertainment including the very funny Ted Robbins, Amy Fields playing wonderful music on the violin, myself performing close up Magic as guests arrived and around the tables during dinner and a DJ carrying the crowd through to the early hours.
The atmosphere was fantastic and it was a joy to perform for so many wonderful and inspiring people. We live in such an unfortunate world now as we are confronted with terrible illnesses and a world divided by race and religion that attending events like this make me realise the amount of good in the world and how the human nature and spirit is incredibly strong.
I am sure I am not the only person who wished we could end the divide in the world and cure all illnesses but seeing so many people come together as one is inspiring and makes me see how under such unfortunate circumstances we can all stand as one and support one another.
I was sent some pictures from the evening, which I have shared underneath this blog. If you are affected by Cancer or would like to support The Rosemere Cancer Foundation please click here
So the wedding season is in full swing and I have had the great pleasure of performing right across Lancashire at many events and venues. From Bartle Hall to Shrigley Hall, Grasshoppers to Wigan Cricket club, White Bull at Alston to Hotel Football, Eaves Hall to the Midland Hotel. Each event has been amazing and has been so much fun!
I have managed to find the time to have 4 days away in Wales with the family to recharge my batteries. Even when I am away and taking long strolls on the beach with my dog Mavis, the brain is still thinking and planning new material and looking at what else I can bring to my performance.
Over the last year I have been working hard to bring new routines and ideas into my act and although some haven't worked out I am delighted to say a lot have and so these will begin to filter into my number 1 act very soon.
It gets harder and harder to produce the impossible but its a challenge I relish and am keen to conquer! The best Magic I feel is quick and to the point, highly visual and that will leave people stunned.
It's back to business as normal from tomorrow where I am performing all over Lancashire at a charity event, wedding, private party and restuarant. The fun never stops and with a new website nearly complete, I am just about ready to start filming some new videos, so look out for those too!
So you may have heard about me from friends or family and now want to know why you should book me for your next event rather than another Magician..
There is so much more to performing Magic than just doing trick after trick after trick. My Magic is based on many principles all of which i have learnt over the years. From starting Drama School at the age of 8 i was taught how to perform, how to entertain and how to connect with my audience. Its vital to deliver a polished performance where the Magic is exceptional and the performance is exceptional. I take great pride in each and every performance i am booked for and take great pride in the effects that i have created for you to see up close and personal.
Forget the usual pick a card tricks, the special trick decks and pulling a coin from someones ear. My new generation of Magic delivers so much more! The demand for me to perform across the UK and the world grows year to year, from cards appearing in impossible locations such as bottles, other peoples jackets and even my shoe, to causing smoke to flow from my bare hands and producing various items from fire. Its this level of skill and dexterity that leaves my audience speechless, in fits of laughter and demanding more and more!
I have been very lucky to gain great help and advice from many of the worlds top Magicians including the UK's best Magician Paul Daniels. Each effect is carefully selected, carefully structured, carefully choreographed and practised to perfection in order to look and feel like real Magic.
Magic has become my life, to be able to meet and perform for young or old is a true honour and i am humbled to be able to share what i do each time i perform.
I am proud to perform at any event big or small and will guarantee your event being one that everyone talks about, remembering entertainment like no other.
There are MANY Magicians on the Internet, all claiming to be the next best thing, however my goal and ambition is to prove to each and every single audience why i should be your number one choice:
* Over 10 years performing experience
* Performer at many prestigious events and venues around the world
* Creator of Best selling effects for Magicians worldwide
* Performer for soap stars, Footballers and even Royalty
* Resident Magician at various restaurants and Football Clubs for over 6 years
* Not just Magic Tricks, but a true entertaining performance!
* Award-Winning Magician
* Creative in his art, pushing the boundaries to give you and your guests new Magic that wont have been seen before
So please get in touch and discuss how I can make your next event one to remember!

So its time that of year again! And what a year is has been!!
Firstly apologies for the lack of blogs over the last few months, its been so hectic I actually cant keep up!
The last 6 months has seen us move house and begin work on a brand new office as well as preparing for our second child, which is due in February. Our little boy Ronnie is so excited for Christmas and seeing Santa it makes me wish I were young again!
2016 has been a fantastic year meeting and performing for so many wonderful people; it really has been a pleasure. I have pretty much been working all over the UK performing at weddings, corporate events and now getting into the Christmas spirit with work parties which are so much fun to perform at. New year will see me jetting of to perform at Bahrain and I have promised myself that I will record a very special blog noting my journey and showing some live footage of me performing.
In recent months I have read so many lovely comments and reviews, which just inspires me further to produce the BEST magic I can and share with you all the work. Next year i will be continuing to push the boundaries of live Magic and present new effects which i cannot wait to share!
I have had a lot of people ask about getting into Magic over the past few months so next year I aim to film another DVD teaching you the basics of Magic including effects and presentation.
I do asked for advice on starting out into Magic so i aim to give you a separate blog to help all budding Magicians out there.
Don’t forget my DVD Be A Magician is in stock and can be seen here
as I write this I am just about to leave to perform at a Christmas party for NatWest... Merry Christmas everyone!
Well it seems like a very long time has passed since I published my last blog so I thought it would be good to get back on track and share with you all what I have been up to!
I am delighted to announce that I have been asked to perform again this year in Bahrain. I have already spent the last two years performing on New Years Eve in Bahrain and so I cannot wait to be back this year with new effects and to once again see some familiar places.
We launched 'Magic Monday' last month on Facebook and Twitter and so far the feedback has been really good. Magic Monday offers me the chance to perform a quick effect for you all to enjoy. From producing playing cards to money each video is quick and visual and gives all the followers on social media something extra to enjoy. I must say I have had a lot of fun filming and producing the videos and we have some really good Magic to film soon!
I have been busy performing right across Lancashire the last few weeks and have had a fantastic time at weddings and restaurants as well. A few highlights were performing at Wincham hall in Cheshire. I was booked to perform wedding magic after the wedding breakfast and it was lots of fun. I was booked to perform on Fathers Day at Preston Golf Club for their annual dinner. Nunsmere Hall was a fantastic venue for another wedding I was booked for and Manchester Midland Hotel for Manchester Uni which is always a fun time.
This month I am once again all over the Uk. I have more weddings booked in this weekend and am performing at Rotary Dinners and corporate events for some lovely Hotels in Cheshire! On top of that I am currently moving home so trying to keep all my Magic together (and in one piece) is quite difficult!!
Have a great week everyone!
Its been a little while since I published my last blog so I thought it would be good to catch up and keep you all updated with what’s been happening!
It’s been a fantastic few months for me as I have once again been performing right across the UK.
I had a great time performing at Hale Prep School ball in Knutsford, the night was a great success and all for a very good cause. I do offer my services as additional raffle prizes and auction prizes so if you are having a fundraiser and would like to know more please contact me for more information.
I have performed at various weddings and engagement parties and each one has been a pleasure! I especially like performing at weddings and recently most Brides and Grooms have booked me to perform after the wedding breakfast. I have been at Bartle Hall for Gayle and Ricky’s wedding, which was superb! They had fun family and friends and the reactions were priceless!
Chris and Craig had a lovely wedding at Barton Grange and again with great family and friends. I was very lucky to catch the end of the wedding speeches which were fantastic especially how a special rendition of Frozen’s 'Do you want to build a Snowman' finished them brilliantly!
I also was booked to do a University Ball at Barton Grange a few weeks before with a James Bond theme, The Mayors Ball at The Guild Hall Preston, which was the third year I had been booked to do this event, as well as more Weddings at The Shireburn Arms and the MacDonald Hotel. I have also managed to squeeze in a wedding Fair which was fun to meet new brides and grooms!
This month sees me end the season at Bolton FC. It’s been my 7th season and despite the poor results and now relegation it has been another fun season meeting a variety of fans and it’s a place I will miss. I have more weddings, parties and corporate events booked in the diary and with some filming beginning soon for some special videos it’s a pretty packed month!
You will also see a small update to the website happening soon with some minor tweaks and a new home page with some new pictures taken from some recent events. I must give a shout out to Terry Moran Photography who captured some great pictures of me performing recently. Terry is fantastic at what he does and is a great guy so be sure to check out his work at www.terry-moran.co.uk
My wife and I purchased a new sofa which arrived this week with a special gift.. a new best friend for our son Ronnie. Thanks Sofology!
