Well its been a very interesting and fun few weeks for me, I have been extremely lucky to have performed some close-up magic for all the Mac Donald Hotel general and area Managers at one of there meetings in Manchester. I have performed some magic for stars from Britain’s got talent and The Voice at a very important charity event for widowed fathers named The Jennifer Charity. I have continued to perform at my residency’s including CoCo’s, Bangla Fusion and Franco’s so its been none stop performing!
Over the next few weeks I am heading to London and also to Scotland to perform some corporate magic, which I am extremely excited about.
Many people ask me my true opinion on Television Magicians such as Dynamo, Troy and David Blaine and ask me if I can walk through windows and walk on water.
Television Magic is now in a separate category of its own and it is virtually impossible to create such effects on the spare of the moment unless you enforce a high budget and take many weeks and months planning at a venue to create such huge illusions. As a close up Magician I really don’t think it makes good viewing to witness such effects by myself because people have seen it and so I feel it wouldn’t be anything new or exciting. One of the best things about performing in the real world in front of a live audience is the fact that I get so many opportunities to create brand new effects that will leave my audience wanting more. I am always planning and creating and polishing brand new effects that will be even more magical even for the people who have seen me time and time again. When working at my residencies I always see the same faces and they always expect something new so its highly important I deliver the goods that way they enjoy it and I to enjoy changing and improving my routines.
I do on occasions get asked to recreate certain effects that a client has seen on television, which I have no objection to except that I try and improve on what they have seen and make it more impossible and even more magical! As always I strive to create and perform the best possible magic so that I become the number one choice when booking a close-up magician.
If you are planning an event that requires something specific creating or always wanted to see your favorite effect performed live then do get in touch and let me know. Its always a great challenge to create a vision that a client has to ensure there event is a huge success and one that exceeds all expectation!
As mentioned earlier in this blog, I was very lucky to be asked to perform at The Jennifer Charity and perform for the stars of Britain’s Got Talent and The Voice. I am a keen supporter of many charities and I feel this one is fantastic for widowed fathers. Please take a look at www.jennifercharity.wordpress.com for more information.
